Do you have a resident who requires a pureed diet and they just refuse to eat? Now they're losing weight and the doctor and family is concerned? Or even worse, MAD?
Why are these residents refusing to eat their pureed foods?

Well... because it probably looks something like this > > >
Does that look appetizing? Would YOU want to have this for dinner? I don't even know what the heck that is!
So how do we make foods to look more appetizing and appealing so our residents get to enjoy their meals? Well.... it takes a little bit of effort, but when theres a will, theres a way!

In large communities we train our staff on how to work with pureed diets, send them to special classes, and we use pureed food molds!
How does this look? Better? Do you know what you are eating here? Yup! I'll take a plate of chicken and mashed potatoes and veggies!
We can do this in any of our facilities using food grade molds, or other creative ideas like a piping bag with different tips to make mashed potatoes look like a Christmas tree, peas as individual small dollops, or pipe carrots into a fun design.

Well, until you can get there, try giving your pureed residents foods that are MEANT to be pureed. Like smoothies and smoothie bowls, mashed potatoes, pureed soups, etc.
Try putting the different pureed foods in serving bowls separately to make them more appealing.
